Julia Rose's second EP ‘Stairway to the Moon’ is an enchantingly heart-warming offering of songs delivered in her own unique style of contemporary Folk/Roots-infused Australiana. Showcasing music that takes you on a spellbinding lyrical, rhythmic and melodic journey, this dynamic singer/songwriter is establishing herself as one of Queensland’s most exciting musicians.
Julia Rose is gifted with a captivating and commanding stage presence. Using delicate acoustic guitar arrangements interspersed with blisteringly dexterous phat bass lines, and weaving between the softest of melodies and the soaring operatic vocals of her 3-octave range. Julia can silence a room and hold her audience’s unwavering attention until the very final note. As a seasoned performer and accomplished musician, Julia Rose's charismatic and honest delivery allows for an intimate and dazzling live show as she accompanies her listeners through melodic tales of love, loneliness, heartbreak and hope.
Julia Rose’s new CD is available digitally via iTunes and other online stores as well as physically via her website and live shows.
The new single 'Melbourne Town' from the EP ‘Stairway to the Moon’ features two of Julia’s sisters, Louise Cottone (violinist QLD Symphony Orchestra) and Claire Cottone (soul/reggae artist CC the Cat). The Melbourne Town single release is celebrated with the November Melbourne tour and the release of her new music video.
About the Melbourne Town track...
“I lived in Melbourne in 2010 and made some wonderful friends. I was constantly impressed by the beauty and collectiveness of this city and left Melbourne town with a very heavy heart. It's hard to drive through tears….this song is about appreciating the new and respecting the old.”
Julia has recently returned from a tour of JAPAN, performing in venues from Tokyo to Osaka. You can see some of the antics they got up to on in their Japan tour video, along with footage from the shows on her website www.juliarosemusic.com and youtube.
